Hughes Supplies Broadband Satellite System to ISKRA
KB Iskra utilizes HN system to provide broadband service to remote Siberia
Germantown, Md., September 4, 2007 ?Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the world’s leading provider of broadband satellite solutions and services, announced today that it has provided Joint Stock Company Iskra Research & Development of Krasnoyarsk, Russia, with an HN NOC and 500 HN7000/7740 remote satellite terminals.
Iskra’s primary customers are government agencies, large enterprises, SME, and telecom operators located in remote regions of Siberia without access to a well-developed terrestrial telecommunications infrastructure.

Utilizing the Hughes broadband satellite terminals, Iskra will support a wide range of Web applications, VPN services, Voice over IP (VoIP), videoconferencing, and broadcast and multicast applications to an expanding list of customers in the Siberian, Ural and Far Eastern Federal regions.
